About Paulina Romano

Paulina Romano is a female guitarist from Connecticut. Recent Berklee College of Music graduate, she plays everything from blues to rock to metal. Paulina was surrounded by guitars her whole life but didn't start her guitar journey until the age of 15. Not even a year later, eager to learn everything she could on the instrument, she joined her high school jazz band. Later joining the Paul Green Rock Academy. 

 

Paulina's musical prowess has taken her on six tours across the East Coast, West Coast, Midwest, and Europe. Notably, she was a member of the voice of YES, Jon Anderson's backing band during the summers of 2021, 2022, and 2023. Paulina was lead guitar on the hit song “Owner of a Lonely Heart” plus more and sang backing vocals on Roundabout. While touring in Europe played 2 sold-out shows in London at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire and headlined 2 nights at the German Frank Zappa festival, Zappanale. Paulina has toured with punk singer, Gibby Haynes, frontman of The Butthole Surfers as well. Contributing to lead and rhythm guitar on punk songs by the band plus incorporating other styles and arrangements. Most recently touring and playing with past members of Frank Zappa's band including Ray White, Scott Thunes and Bobby Martin. 

 

While at Berklee, Paulina's talent was recognized through various opportunities. She was selected as a featured guitarist for Guitar Night: Rock and Pop 2023, this concert is known to have a “very long history of featuring Berklee’s best guitarists”. Along with that, Paulina was featured on the premiere episode of the video series "unCOVER" on Berklee's YouTube channel. A series where musicians were challenged to learn, arrange, and record a song in less than two hours without seeing each other. Paulina's versatility shines through as she was chosen as a guitarist for Berklee's Lady Gaga Ensemble, contributing to a full production with a band, lead vocalists, background vocalists, and dancers. Additionally, she was selected as an instrumentalist for the sold-out Career Jam 2024 performance showcase, highlighting the most recognized students in their growing industry expertise. Leading up to graduation, Paulina was selected to perform in the annual Commencement Concert at Agganis Arena, honoring and playing songs from Q-Tip and Ledesi. Paulina earned her degree in Guitar Performance and Recording & Production at Berklee while actively performing around Boston and recording in studios. Her dedication to her craft and her impressive accomplishments mark her as a rising star in the music industry.
